  • Intraoral cameras: During your checkup or new patient exam, we'll use a small, handheld camera to take pictures inside your mouth, then we'll display the images on your chairside monitor. Dr. Urban will refer to the pictures to explain his findings and collaborate with you on treatment planning.
  • Chairside monitors: All of our comfortable treatment chairs are equipped with computer monitors so that you can view intraoral photos, dental digital X-rays, and educational materials.
  • Dental digital X-rays: Digital radiography exposes patients to 80% less radiation than traditional X-rays. The images can be immediately viewed on chairside monitors, electronically transmitted to insurance companies and specialists, and digitally stored for easy retrieval. Dental digital X-rays require no harsh chemicals, so they're safe for the environment.
  • Air Abrasion: If you have a cavity, Dr. Urban may use air abrasion instead of the traditional method to prepare your tooth for a filling. Air abrasion emits a stream of air and tiny abrasive particles to gently and efficiently remove decay. The noise, heat, and whine of the drill are gone! Air abrasion is so comfortable that most patients don’t need anesthesia.
  • ViziLite: Dr. Urban diligently screens for oral cancer at each checkup and new patient exam. We offer ViziLite, which employs a special mouth rinse and light to identify suspicious mouth lesions that require additional investigation.
  • Laser Dentistry: Dr. Urban uses a Waterlase by Biolase, our soft and hard tissue laser, to perform a variety of dental procedures. With soft tissue laser dentistry, bleeding and swelling are minimal, and you won’t need stitches. For hard tissue, the laser zaps away tooth decay, and you may not need anesthesia. The laser is so gentle that most patients don’t require anesthesia. Our PerioLase® can perform Laser Periodontal Therapy™, which is a minimally invasive procedure to treat gum disease and promote reattachment of gums to teeth. The procedure also stimulates healthy tissue growth.
  • Sedation Dentistry: Millions of Americans experience dental phobia. Dr. Urban understands and combats dental phobia with light oral conscious sedation to alleviate fear and deliver a soothing dental care experience. He may uses nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, to enhance sedation or by itself to promote relaxation and banish dental phobia.
